Gnomes 2010 Calendar

“There’s no place like Gnome!” is a collection of photographs of that most kitsch of garden ornamentation, the Garden Gnome. First invented in the mid-1800’s in Gräfenroda, Germany by ceramic designer Philip Griebel, he based the ornaments on the subterranean Gnome of myth and fable, a small fairy-tale creature. The garden gnome phenomena soon spread across Europe and reached England where gardening was serious hobby. They have now achieved a iconic garden status, being revered and condemned in equal measure! This collection however, is a must have for fans of the garden gnome as each picture features a quirky little caption, such as “Gnome news is good news”!
